Endowments Department is advisory to Government on all religious matters. It concentrates on administration and governance of all the public charitable institutions and endowments, whether registered or not, other than Wakfs governed by the provisions of the Wakfs Act, 1954, Administration of all Hindu public religious institutions and endowments whether registered or not in accordance with the provisions of the Act etc.,
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF ENDOWMENTS DEPARTMENT
Administration and governance of all the public charitable institutions and endowments, whether registered or not, other than Wakfs governed by the provisions of the Wakfs Act, 1954.
And also administration of all Hindu public religious institutions and endowments whether registered or not in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
Protection of institution lands from encroachments and to coordinate with Revenue Department for reconciliation of endowments lands.Providing financial aid under the scheme of Archaka and Other Employees Welfare Fund for the welfare of the employees who are working in temples / charitable institutions and endowments.
Providing financial aid under the scheme of Common Good Fund for renovation and reconstruction of religious institutions and constructions of kalyanamandapams, establishment and maintenance of Vedapatashalas and Schools for training in Archakatvam, Adhyapakatwam, Vedaparayanikatwam, silpam, vaidyam or like services and Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam to needy institutions.
Constitution of Board of Trustees to temples for suggesting / advising in administration of temples for promotion and propagation of the objects connected therein.
